Rochester, N.Y. – U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced $109,980 in federal funding for critical infrastructure project at the Greater Rochester International Airport. The funding was allocated through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to assess the environmental impacts related to a service road relocation.

“Making sure our airports are clear for takeoff is essential for the safety of air travelers and the smooth functioning the local economy,” said Senator Schumer. “This much-needed funding will allow the Greater Rochester International Airport to study and plan for critical infrastructure upgrades that enable safer, more efficient service for the passengers and pilots who fly in and out of the region every day.”

“Investing in our airport’s infrastructure enables safer, more efficient service for the businesses and travelers who utilize it every day,” said Senator Gillibrand. “This funding through the Department of Transportation allows the Greater Rochester International Airport to asses and plan for these upgrades.”
