New York, NY – U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) released the following statement on news that New York City will receive millions less in anti-terror funding under the federal Transit Security Grant Program:
“There is zero question that New York City remains the number one terrorist target for terrorists around the world who want to harm Americans. After the Times Square bomb attempt, we must redouble our efforts to keep New York safe and provide more homeland security funding. I am deeply disappointed by this news, but I am hopeful that not only will the decision be reconsidered, but that we will get full funding for the security initiative in Lower Manhattan and Midtown.”
