“I am very saddened by the death of Shimon Peres. Israel and the world have lost a visionary leader who was devoted to security, prosperity, and peace for his country and the whole Middle East. President Peres’s long life in many ways reflected the story of Israel, from its founding to its search for stability, security, and ultimately peace. We stand with the people of Israel and the entire world today in mourning his loss.”
